Rent A Car Direct

Rent A CarDirect is a car rental company that operates, among other channels, through Rentalcars.com. As the business grew, manually handling bookings and constantly checking the platform’s web dashboard became inefficient. The client was looking for a solution to reduce communication errors and automate key processes.

Handling reservations on the Rentalcars.com platform is only possible through the web browser. With a high volume of bookings, manually tracking changes and transferring them into the client’s internal system was time-consuming and error-prone. Unreliable email notifications further increased the risk of missing new reservations. The goal was to create a reliable tool that would automatically synchronize data between Rentalcars.com and the client’s system.

For our client, Rent A Car Direct, we developed a monolithic middleware application that automates communication between the Rentalcars.com platform and the client’s internal system. At short, regular intervals, the system fetches data about new and updated reservations and sends current vehicle availability and pricing information from the client’s system to Rentalcars.com.

Additionally, we implemented a monitoring module to ensure the application runs smoothly. In case of any errors, the system immediately alerts both the technical team and the client.

The entire solution was built using .NET and runs in the Microsoft Azure cloud, leveraging Azure Container Apps and Azure Table Storage as a lightweight and cost-effective database. The application has been running reliably since the beginning of the year, ensuring continuous data synchronization and significantly reducing the workload for staff—all at a minimal maintenance cost of just a few euros per month.
